Materials

We understand that all photoshoots are different and photographers have individual needs, which is why we offer a range of materials. As all our products are made to order, we always recommend that you request one of our Free Material Swatch Samples before you purchase any backdrop.

Here is a description of all our materials we offer:

Vinyl - Standard

Our Standard Vinyl is a white matt vinyl with a mesh embedded within for extra strength and durability. It is our most popular choice of material and the cheapest option we supply. The Standard Vinyl is great for photo shoots that may get messy and can be wiped clean. As with any vinyl backdrop, they can be prone to lighting and flash glare but this can usually be overcome by feathering the light away from the backdrop. Darker coloured backdrops are usually prone to this so we would recommend the Poly Paper or Coated Polyester. Maximum roll width for this material is 10ft wide (3048mm).

Vinyl - Premium

Our Premium Vinyl is a white matt vinyl with a mesh embedded within for extra strength and durability. It is a much thicker and heavier vinyl than the Standard Vinyl. The Premium Vinyl is great for photo shoots that may get messy and can be wiped clean. As with any vinyl backdrop, they can be prone to lighting and flash glare but this can usually be overcome by feathering the light away from the backdrop. Darker coloured backdrops are usually prone to this so we would recommend the Poly Paper or Coated Polyester. Maximum roll width for this material is 10ft wide (3048mm).

Poly Paper - Recyclable

Our new and improved Poly Paper is a white matt plastic material a bit like plastic paper which has no mesh embedded and is quite thin and lightweight compared to the other materials. It now comes with a blockout liner to the rear, meaning light will not pass from behind and is almost glare free without affecting the vibrancy of the print. The original Poly Paper was quite delicate and ripped easily but our improved material is now tear proof although it is not as robust as the other materials so we would not recommend this material for floors. Another great feature of our improved material is that is now PVC Free and Recyclable in a Category 5 environment. Maximum roll width for this material is 5ft wide (1600mm).

Coated Polyester

Our Coated Polyester is more of a fabric than the Vinyl. It is similar to canvas but a little more rigid. The best feature of this material is that it is glare free however, as this is more of a fabric it is not as easily wipeable as the previous options. Maximum roll width for this material is 10ft wide (3048mm).
